BUS CONDUCT EXPECTATIONS The relationship between the driver and the student on the bus is the same as between the teacher and student. Students are expected to respectfully obey the driver and respond promptly to his/her direction. The drivers will use the following guidelines to insure appropriate and safe bus conduct. Students are encouraged to communicate directly with the driver when incidents occur on the bus. The bus driver is in charge. The bus driver will not tolerate misbehavior, defiance, obscene or offensive language. DO sit in assigned seats facing forward with feet on the floor at all times. DO keep aisles open. All items brought onto the bus must ride on the passenger’s lap or under the seat. DO keep the bus clean at all times by placing all trash in wastebaskets. DO NOT yell, scream, or make other loud noises. DO NOT engage in aggressive behavior (such as fighting, kicking, punching, pinching, spitting, arguing, teasing, pushing, shoving or taking property that does not belong to you.) DO NOT throw anything on the bus, out of the bus windows, or at the bus. DO NOT cause damage to the inside or outside of the bus. DO keep all body parts and belongings inside the bus at all times. DO NOT stand, walk, or move around when the bus is in motion. DO NOT consume food or beverages on the bus. DO report any problems to the bus driver immediately.
The school administration will determine appropriate disciplinary action for issues not addressed in the above expectations. |
