Welcome to Health Class!

Dear Parents/Guardians,

The school code of Illinois requires all high schools in the state to provide instruction in Health Education. The code also specifies that this instruction include units on Wellness, Mental Health, Disease, Reality of Drugs, and Education in Sexuality. These units will be presented in health class this semester. Our curriculum is an abstinence-based program that includes the units and information listed below:

Concepts of Health

Positive Mental Health

Physical Fitness/Nutrition

Abstinence based Human Sexuality

CPR (Adult, Child, and Infant)

Drug/Alcohol Education

We will meet the course standards in a variety of ways including projects, group work, journaling, movies, skits, and discussions. Other methods may be utilized throughout the semester.
